A Garden To Die For

…and so she sat and smiled in satisfaction.
As the sun shone down she soaked up its rays greedily

She watched
Through slit eyes
While the bees droned
Their back legs golden with pollen.
She listened
To traffic thrum on hot tarmac
Children squeal with delight
In the distance.
She felt
Warm air waft
Over her aged skin.
She sighed
And never realised the sigh
Was her last breath.
