In May of last year, 2007, my daughter, Andrea went on an exchange visit of teachers to the Gambia, arranged by the Beds and Herts postgraduate medical school, by whom she was employed as a Senior Lecturer. On New Year's Eve,2007, she died of a rare and disfiguring form of cancer she had fought for twenty years, since the age of just nineteen. This poem - a true story. And a tribute to one remarkable lady.
