Thank you, sunks, for visiting my story and for the thumbs-up. The flash prompt word was "tower," and being in Austin, I couldn't help but think of the "Tower sniper" here in the 60's. The fact that the MC killed himself surprised me too! I thought I was writing a story similar to that of the man who killed two-dozen others, yet 3/4 of the way through the kid's real intentions revealed themselves. It was the line about "healing himself" that clued me in.

Until Griffon mentioned it, I didn't realize that Jules' version is a re-make! You should see Jules' video on youtube -- he's on the rooftop of a school as kids run out at the end of the day. I also had that video on my mind as I was writing this flash.

Blimey. I wasn't expecting him to kill himself. A strong sub and no mistake, Ms. Bintarab. The song you quote in the intro was originally written and performed by Tears for Fears. Gary Jules covered it (very well may I add). A very strong sub, in my sunky opinion.

A very true voice. It's supposed to be chaotic, but that makes reading it chaotic as well. You need to find the middle road when writing this way and then it's the old saying of not being able to please everyone. Some readers will go with it, others will stop reading.

Hello MS. Bintarab. I enjoyed this. A bit like Johnny, I too had to read it twice. That's more a problem that I have as opposed to the writing tho. I'm always forgetting who's who when I read stories. I'm hopeless with film plots. You certainly wouldn't want to watch a film with me. I'm forever rewinding and scratching my head. It's good, but I had to read it twice to fully grasp it. It's a bit fast. You should make it longer, add some atmosphere.
