	Jerusha - November 9, 2008 Thank you, Harry. The typo fairy has been doing her worst to me for a couple of days. I've been toying around with my Sheriff Briggs character for a while. What doesn't come out in this story is his fondness for Shakespeare, high-born ladies, and a good claret. He's a complex guy who does what he does, not for the joy of it, but because, in his ultimate pragmatic view, "It needs doing and I'm proficient."
	HarryB - November 9, 2008 Very good scene, and a superb analytical s ype sheriff with a connoisseur's knowledge of handguns. I pictured him as Lee Marvin or Charles Bronson – a guy who knew the odds. Looks after the typos ... (road through town) ... I know you meant "rode," others may not.
